What To Do Once You Find Out You’re Pregnant

I'm Pregnant Now What

If you arrived at this site through a search it’s probably because you asked the question I’m pregnant now what? But you may be asking this question for a number of reasons.

It could be because this is the first time you’ve become pregnant and you want to know what to expect. You want to know what changes are going to occur in your body and in your life over the next 9 months and beyond. Hopefully I can shed some light on the subject and put your mind at ease.

It could be because this pregnancy is totally unplanned and you don’t know what to do, what your options are. If this is the case I suggest you speak to someone about it. Please don’t try to go through this alone. There’s always someone to talk to whether it be your partner, your family, a close friend or work colleague. If you feel you have nobody to talk to there’s always professional advice you can seek without judgment. If you’re in the United States you can contact a Parenthood Health Centre and discuss your options. In any other country I’m sure there are similar services available.

If you’re asking “I’m pregnant now what” because you want to know what to expect next and what to do next then this is what this site is all about.

You really have three options:

  • Terminate the pregnancy
  • Continue with the pregnancy but place the child up for Adoption
  • Become a parent.

No matter which way you’re leaning make sure you see your doctor if you haven’t already done so.

If you’re considering aborting the pregnancy or placing the child up for adoption I once again recommend you speak with somebody before making a final decision. Both of these are huge decisions to make and you want to consider as much advice as you possibly can.

If you’ve decided to continue with your pregnancy then congratulations! The first and most important thing is that you keep yourself and therefore your baby healthy. You may need to make some big life changes such as quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol etc.

The first thing you should do is speak with your doctor. Ask any questions you may have no matter how silly you feel they are. Your doctor will provide you with information about your pregnancy and advise you to enroll in Prenatal Care as soon as possible.  I highly recommend you take this advice as you need to make sure you are both healthy and on track throughout your pregnancy. It will make things much less stressful when you know that everything is moving along as it should and once again you can ask as many questions as you like.

You may also wish to consider enrolling in Antenatal classes. These are usually run through your hospital and tend to fill up very quickly so it’s best to make an appointment as soon as possible. You’ll probably attend these classes when you reach your third trimester but you can attend earlier if you wish. These classes are where you will learn all about the process of giving birth so that you know exactly what to expect. I found these classes extremely helpful for a number of reasons.

You may think you know everything there is about giving birth but even just visiting the hospital and being shown the different wards, meeting the midwives etc. really helps with stress levels when the big day arrives. They will provide you with a huge amount of information and therefore you’ll know exactly what to do and where to go on the day.

By the way, I don’t claim to know everything there is to know about this subject. I realize that people have all sorts of different situations and I probably haven’t even begun to cover them all. But whatever your situation I stress again, please talk to somebody before making any decision.

So if you arrived here asking I’m pregnant now what, I hope this article has helped you in some way. In the next few articles we will go through a pregnancy week by week so that you know what to expect. Also along the way I’ll make some suggestions to help you with planning for the arrival of your child including a checklist of items you will need to acquire.

So once again Congratulations! You are about to embark on a journey that will totally change your life!

Diet During Pregnancy?

Diet During PregnancyI’m sure there are lot’s of women out there that worry about putting on too much weight during their pregnancy. You hear all the time how new mothers are trying to shed all that extra “baby weight”.

Whilst a diet during pregnancy is generally looked upon as a bad idea, there has to be a way to have a safe happy and healthy pregnancy and not look like the Good Year blimp after you’ve given birth right?

So I did some research and found that most of the information available on the internet is just plain wrong. As soon as a pregnant women mutters the word diet they are instantly condemned and told it is not good for the baby and blah blah blah. Don’t listen to it.

The reason women end up with so much “baby weight” is because they ate all the wrong foods during their pregnancy and had no guidance along the way as far as exercise and nutrition. They assumed that the baby must be in need of all that chocolate and that exercising may hurt their baby so it’s best to just sit on the lounge and eat.

The truth is there ARE safe forms of exercise that are excellent for mothers-to-be and their baby!

Not only this, but doing so is proven to result in a much easier labour!

I came across a course called Pregnancy Without Pounds and started to read about it’s author Michelle Moss. Michelle has 15 years experience as a Health and Nutrition Coach, a Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition, a Kinesiology Diploma, Psychology Degree and a Personal Training Certificate!

She has spent the last 8 years helping thousands of women to love their pregnancy by looking great and regaining their figure after child birth!

Her books will answer all of your questions, such as:

  • How much weight ”should” I gain? Am I gaining weight too fast?
  • What exercises are safe for pregnancy and what can I do to stay toned?
  • Which foods should I eat? Which do I need to avoid?
  • How can I prevent stretch marks, sagging breasts and cellulite?
  • What do I need to do to have an easy delivery?
  • What should I be doing now to speed up my weight loss after?

Her proven program will get you through your pregnancy in great shape in as little as 27 minutes a day with minimal effort.

You will learn EXACTLY how to avoid unwanted pounds, overcome food cravings, care for your skin, dress to kill and look like one Hot Mama!

Anyway enough of me raving about it, go check it out here and make sure you let us know your results!
